Visa applications must be lodged at the Visa Office of the Embassy without appointment during public opening hours. Applicants should always appear in person. All documents must be printed out and presented in original alongside with copy where required. The passport of the applicant will be kept and returned with the visa, if approved.
UNIVERSITY ENROLLMENT; UNIVERSITY POST GRADUATE; UNIVERSITY SINGLE COURSE
Applicants must provide:
- Visa application form;
- One passport photo (not to be affixed on the visa application form);
- Valid passport with at least two blank pages;
- For non-Thai/Cambodian/Laotian applicants, long-term Thai visa at least annual (please note that three-month visas although renewable are not acceptable);
- Cover letter;
- Pre-enrollment documentation (UNIVERSITALY): acceptance letter from University in Italy; academic degree and transcript; (if applicable) Declaration of Value, issued by the Italian Consulate or Embassy having jurisdiction over the University/School that issued the certificate; (if applicable) CIMEA Statements of Comparability and Verification; (if applicable) language certificate(s);
- Round-trip/one-way airline ticket or booking confirmation;
- Proof of accommodation: rental agreement or at least 15/30 days of hotel reservation;
- Travel medical insurance covering at the least the first 2 weeks of intended stay and with a minimum coverage of 30,000.00 EUR for emergency hospital treatment and repatriation expenses;
- Proof of financial means of subsistence. The availability can be proven through: personal bank statement covering at least the last 3 months OR sponsorship letter from parents with parents’ bank statement alongside with copy of ID together with original and copy of birth certificate with Italian/English translation;
- Copy of passport and previous visas (only Schengen, UK, USA and Canada visas issued in the last 5 years; if visas are affixed in the old passport, a copy of the old travel document is also required).

EXCHANGE AND MOBILITY PROGRAMS
Applicants must provide:

- Acceptance letter from University/Institution in Italy, specifying the type of course, number of weekly hours and dates;
- Transcript and other relevant academic certificate(s) of previous studies in the applicant’s home country;
- Round-trip airline ticket or booking confirmation;
- Proof of accommodation: rental agreement or at least 15/30 days of hotel reservation;
- Travel medical insurance covering at the least the first 2 weeks of intended stay and with a minimum coverage of 30,000.00 EUR for emergency hospital treatment and repatriation expenses;
- (If applicable) evidence of applicant’s employment;
- Proof of financial means of subsistence. Applicants must provide:

- Cover letter;
- Documentation concerning the internship program organized by an authorized entity and implemented according to a specific agreement between the promoting institution and the hosting employer. The visa can be requested by presenting a formal internship project duly stamped by the competent Italian Region;
- Transcript and other relevant academic certificate(s) of previous studies in the applicant’s home country;
- Round-trip airline ticket or booking confirmation;
- Proof of accommodation: rental agreement or at least 15/30 days of hotel reservation;
- Travel medical insurance covering at the least the first 2 weeks of intended stay and with a minimum coverage of 30,000.00 EUR for emergency hospital treatment and repatriation expenses;
- (If applicable) evidence of applicant’s employment;
- Proof of financial means of subsistence. - Enrolment letter to a professional training course, mentioning its duration, subject of the training program, credentials etc. The training entity must declare that it has been accredited according to relevant regional regulations to carry out professional training courses;
- Transcript and other relevant academic certificate(s) of previous studies in the applicant’s home country;
- Round-trip/one-way airline ticket or booking confirmation;
- Proof of accommodation: rental agreement or at least 15/30 days of hotel reservation;
- Travel medical insurance covering at the least the first 2 weeks of intended stay and with a minimum coverage of 30,000.00 EUR for emergency hospital treatment and repatriation expenses;
- (If applicable) evidence of applicant’s employment;
- Proof of financial means of subsistence. The availability can be proven through: personal bank statement covering at least the last 3 months OR sponsorship letter from parents with parents’ bank statement alongside with copy of ID together with original and copy of birth certificate with Italian/English translation;
