Settimana della Cucina Italiana. Press Release in lingua inglese

The Embassy of Italy in collaboration with the Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce (TICC), the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the Italian Board of Tourism (ENIT) is pleased to announce the 4th Edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, Thailand edition 2019, based on this year’s theme: “Food Education: A Taste of Culture”.

From 19 to 29 November several activities will take place throughout Thailand, offering a unique opportunity to share with food lovers and friends of Italy some great culinary experiences and delight, based on the notion of healthy food an correct information to the consumer.

The official opening of the Italian Cuisine week will be the “Ospitalità Italiana Awarding Ceremony” on November 19th at Gaysorn Urban Resort.

At its 9th edition, this gastronomic event will recognize and certify Authentic Italian Restaurants in Thailand and showcase new food products from Italy. The President of ALMA, the prestigious Italian International School of Cuisine of Colorno, in the Parma province, will be a special guest for the evening.

In the course of the Week, dedicated menus will be presented by 20 top-notch Italian restaurants in Thailand: Gianni Ristorante, Galleria Milano, Mio Food&Art, Peppina, Enoteca, Italian Osteria, Brunello, La Scarpetta, Il Bolognese, Appia, Rossano’s and La Scala in Bangkok; Portofino, Acqua, Rossovivo, La Carbonara and Bocconcino in Phuket; Da Antonio in Chiang Mai; Acquapazza in Pattaya; and Pepenero in Koh Samui.

If you wish to taste Italy’s best wine with internationally acclaimed wine critic James Suckling do not miss the eighth edition of The Grand Tasting event that will take place on November 27 at Grand Hyatt Erawan, Grand Ballroom. This is Bangkok’s largest premium Italian wine event, showcasing more than 100 top-tier Italian producers handpicked by James Suckling himself at the walk-around tasting.

A Sicilian Journey with Chef Martina Caruso’s menu at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok on 22-23 November and 29-30 November at Banyan Tree Phuket. Chef Martina Caruso recently won the Michelin Female Chef Award 2019.

On 29 November the Week will be concluded by the 3rd edition of the acclaimed Charity Gala Dinner followed by a Live Opera concert “The Taste of Music 2019” at the Mandarin Oriental. For the first time in Thailand, a rare museum copy will be displayed of the Codex of the Flight of Birds by Leonardo da Vinci on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the passing of the Italian genius.
