After the success of the literary anthology “Stories of the East, Stories of the West” and of the project “Videos of the East, Videos of the West,” the Italian Embassy in Bangkok organizes a contest of short videos on the theme of cultural identity:
A short video, telling about your country and your identity or the meeting between Eastern and Western cultures.
➢ Participants in the contest can be professional or non-professional video-makers living in Italy, Thailand, Cambodia or Laos.
➢ Authors wishing to take part in the initiative may send an original video, in Italian or English, to the Embassy of Italy through the following email address:
microracconti.italianfestival@gmail.com within and no later than December 31. 2021.
➢ The videos must have a maximum length of 4 minutes.
➢ Style, subject, form (documentary, cartoon, fiction…), settings (people, markets, life, nature…), budget and technical choices are up to the author.
➢ The videos must be in a common video format.
➢ The authors are asked to attach a brief biographical note (maximum 10 lines) and a declaration stating that they are the authors of the video they have sent, that they are the only owners of copyright (images, music score…) and that they agree that their videos will be presented in the event and uploaded on Embassy’s YouTube channel.
➢ The videos are free in terms of style and genre, but must have as a theme the culture, tradition, life, people, places of the East and the West or the meeting of cultures.
➢ A jury made up of members of the organization and of Italian and international cultural world will select the most significant videos, which will be presented in a special event organized by the Embassy of Italy in Bangkok. The selected videos will also be promoted on the official channels of the Embassy of Italy and on its net.
➢ The jury’s decision is final.
➢ The selected videos will be presented in Thailand as part of the Week of the Italian Language in the Worldin the framework of the event “Videos of the East, Videos of the West” and possibly in Italy.
➢ During the presentation and screening of the selected videos, the audience, as a popular jury, will vote and choose their favourite video.
