Born on July 19th 1965 in Rome. He is married with Mrs. Tala and they have two daughters.
In 1988 he graduated in Political Science, with honors, from the University of Rome.
From 1986 to 1988 he worked as Adviser to the Chairman and CEO of ADNKronos media Company in Italy.
From 1988 to 1990 he served as First Lieutenant in the Army. In 2000, he was promoted to Captain.
In 1991 he joined the Italian Foreign Service as career diplomat. From 1991 to 1992 he worked at the Press office and Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1992 to 1994 he served at the Office of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
From 1994 to 1998 he worked at the Italian Embassy in Bonn (Germany) as Chief of staff of the Ambassador. In 1998 he was assigned as DCM, Head of the Commercial and economic desk at the Italian Embassy in Beirut (Lebanon).
He was Adjunct Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the Council of Ministers (2001-2006), where he was, among other things, head of the Sherpa’s office for the G8.
He was Ambassador of Italy to the United Arab Emirates (2006-10) and to the Sultanate of Oman (2010-12).
Back to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he held positions in the Directorate of Political and Security Affairs.
From 2015 to 2018 he held various executive positions in public and private companies.
From 2019 to 2021 he was Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for the Syrian Crisis and Coordinator for the Global Anti-Isis Coalition.
From February 2021 to October 2022 he was the Diplomatic Advisor to the Minister of Economic Development.
He speaks English, French, Spanish and German and basic Arabic.
