The second edition of ITALIAN SCREENS opens in Bangkok on December 15th. The event aims to present Italian contemporary cinema, and is organized by the General Directorate for Cinema and Audiovisual of the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Cinecittà, the Italian Film Academy – David di Donatello Award, and the Italian Embassy in Bangkok.
The Film Festival will be opened on December 15th at 7.30 pm at SF World Cinema (Central World) with the screening of NOSTALGIA, a film adaptation of the novel by Ermanno Rea, directed by Mario Martone and starring Pierfrancesco Favino, which was presented at Cannes Film Festival 2022.
The festival will continue over the weekend with the following screenings:
– Saturday 16 December, 3.30 pm: SEPTEMBER, by Matteo Rovere, 108 min. (2022)
– Saturday 16 December, 6.00 pm: BURNING HEARTS, by Pippo Mezzapesa, 115 min. (2022)
– Saturday 16 December, 8.30 pm: GHOST NIGHT, by Fulvio Risuleo, 83 min. (2022)
– Sunday 17 December, 4.00 pm: LORD OF THE ANTS, by Gianni Amelio, 134 min. (2022)
– Sunday 17 December, 7.00 pm: L’IMMENSITA’, by Emanuele Crialese, 99 min. (2022)
All films are subtitled in Thai and English.
Entrance is free of charge and tickets can be collected one hour in advance at SF World Cinema (8th floor) for a maximum of two tickets per person.
This year, ITALIAN SCREENS will move for the first time also to Chiang Mai, where five films will be screened (Nostalgia, Burning Hearts, L’immensità, September, Lord of the Ants) from December 18th to 20th at SF Cinema.
