Visas to enter Italy

The Embassy of Italy in Bangkok is pleased to announce that from 5nd of January 2012 will be introduced a new system and new procedures for Visa to Italy. Under this new arrangement, VFS (Thailand) Ltd. Will operate a Joint Visa Application Center at the address indicated hereunder.  In order to submit a visa application to the Embassy of Italy in Bangkok, Thai and foreign citizens holder of a Non Immigrant Visa, of those countries for which visa is requested, can apply for a visa in person (possibility accompained by a tour operator), from Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 16:00 at “Joint Visa Application Center” managed by VFS (Thailand), at the following address:

VFS is a privately-run service company, authorized by this Embassy to receive visa applications and is bound by the rules of data protection in force in Italy. However, any assessment and decision on visa is taken by the Embassy only.

Visa appointment can be also scheduled directly with the Visa Office of the Embassy by following these procedures.

LONG STAY VISA. The request of any type of National Visa together with proper documentation should be submitted in person directly at the Visa Office of the Embassy as following.

The application form, the invitation format, the visa fee and the list of the documentation required for every type of visa, can be found on the website of the Visa Application Center or the web site of the Embassy. For general information on visa regulations, categories and requirements please visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ website.

Please be informed that the Embassy has the right to request further documentation and that by submitting the required documentation does not necessary imply that the visa will be granted.

It is recommended to submit the applications well in advance (at least two weeks) before the departure date. All visa seekers are recommended to confirm their travel plans only after obtaining the visa. It takes on average 5 working days for issuing the decision on the visa applications. There may be changes according to the season and the type of visa.

Visa to participate to the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy

 

The Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy will take place in Rome from Tuesday, 8th December 2015 to Monday, 20th November 2016. Pilgrims coming from Countries subject to visa requirement can opt to pay a voluntary contribution by filling an online form and thus receiving the document “First aid Pass – Iubilaeum Misericordiae”, which will guarantee pilgrims to be entitled to emergency healthcare free of charge in public and accredited hospitals of the Italian National Health Service.

Pre departure Notice

- News for students in Italy – Re-entry issue
Foreigner students leaving Italy without receiving their first residence permit and  are willing to return there to continue to study, should apply through the Consulate (Visa Office / Joint Visa Application Center) before leaving Thailand, for a re-entry visa which will be issued upon receipt of clearance by the Italian Police Station where the student live and cannot re-enter with postal receipt issued upon application of the residence permit.
